System Administrator

The System Administrator has overall responsibility for the design, implementation, maintenance and performance tuning of Claimlogiq’s Azure cloud infrastructure and related infrastructure including end-user systems. This position also participates in technical R&D to enable continuing innovation, and ensures that the software and infrastructure adhere to ClaimLogiq compliance requirements including HIPAA and HiTrust

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create a strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in Azure
  • Consistently develop appropriate scripts to automate processes
  • Design and implement data protection options
  • Design, configure and manage ClaimLogiq’s Virtual Network in Azure and establish our core services in the VNET
  • Lead design process for customer connectivity to ClaimLogiq’s Azure Infrastructure
  • Establish, implement and perform daily monitoring of all IT Infrastructure, systems and key IT processes
  • Extend ClaimLogiq’s standard systems management processes into the cloud
  • Manage environment subscriptions, databases, roles, storage accounts, site recovery, load balancing, failover and backup while monitoring and alerting Management of any abnormalities
  • Manage the active directory (groups and roles), network security groups, Identity Management, Azure Policies & Resource Permissions, and Azure Security Center to maintain network security and compliance
  • Utilize Azure Monitoring, Sentinel, log diagnostics and analytics to detect issues and troubleshoot
  • Document configuration & troubleshooting processes in easy to understand workflow maps
  • Analyze the need for, and implement performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization
  • Configure CPU, memory, and storage for all ClaimLogiq machines
  • Collaborate with Security Team to ensure consistent compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.
  • Assist with end-user support as needed working with Junior Sys Admin

Skills, Experience and Other Job Related Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, Math or Engineering)
  • 10+ years of experience as a full time Systems Administrator, 4+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure environments, including IaaS and PaaS, Hands on experience using the Azure administration portal
  • Preference given to those with Microsoft Azure Certification (AZ 100, AZ 101, AZ 104, AZ 300, and AZ-400)
  • Demonstrable experience deploying enterprise workloads to Azure
  • Knowledge of at least one other cloud hosting solution in addition to Azure (Google, AWS, Helion, SoftLayer)
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Application and Database deployment and migration
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Hands-on experience with one or more configuration management systems such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise core services as well as cloud deployments of these services
  • ASP.NET, C#, MVC, and Visual Studio programming skills a plus
